My portfolio contains information on all aspects of my career and shares my vision of how a course should be managed. The work of a superintendent is usually defined by how his course is viewed and played. This website allows you to virtually share in what I have seen during my time on the course. My philosophy is to provide an enjoyable course while maintaining
strict standards for conditioning and playability
This can be accomplished with:
• A high level of efficiency and meticulous attention to detail
• A team environment with well defined training and development
• Careful planning and execution of daily/weekly/annual plans
• Well balanced fertility program based on soil testing and focused on producing healthy, rigorous turf
• Daily monitoring and careful inspection of course conditions and all ancillary areas
In addition to the components listed above, I also believe in following these general principles to ensure
the goals of the facility are met:
• Continually develop plant health programs based on IPM
• Reinforce strong management techniques on a consistent basis
• Actively play golf to see the course through the “player’s perspective”
• Managing the course with a primary focus on playability
• Knowledgeable in producing and maintaining high-quality turf conditions at varying types of facilities.
• Successfully manage playing surfaces through adverse growing conditions; strong cultural practices skills.
• Extensive background in preparation and price negotiation of budgets in excessof $1M.
• Broad experience in supervising all nuances of construction and course improvement projects.
• Extensive tournament experience, including numerous PGA events and USGA championships.
• Active golfer with thorough understanding of how course management dictates playability.
